Socio-Demographic Indicators

Socio-demographic indicators – used to help define our target audience.

A: Upper Middle Class (high managerial, administrative or professional)

B: Middle Class (lower managerial, administrative or professional)

C1: Lower Middle Class (supervisory or clerical junior managerial, administrative or professional)

C2: Skilled Working Class (skilled manual workers)

D: Working Class (semi and unskilled manual workers)

E: Lowest Level of Subsistence (state pensioners or widows ((no other earner)), casual or lowest grade worker)

I have chosen to create a mainstream magazine that will appeal to teenagers. As teenagers tend not to work, the real target audience will probably be adults buying the magazine for their children from the socio-demographics B, C1 and C2.
