Class Feedback

I have shown my class my drawn plan and I have received feedback on how to improve it further. Everyone said it was good in the fact it followed conventions and would therefore appeal to my target audience, and that I had taken my audience research into consideration. However, my contents page was criticised due to the clear influence of 'Top of the Pops' with the idea of having a screen print of the front over on it. I thought this was an effective way to show where the key stories were located in the magazine, however in order to sell my magazine in a competitive market I should consider doing something a bit different.

Some people believed my double page spread looked a bit bare, but also said this could be due to the lack of actual image. Some said I should consider moving the image to the middle and having the interview around it and while this would be effective, the use of the image as a poster would be lost, which others in my class believed was a good idea.

Another thing which was picked up on was the offer of having posters within the magazine, and whether this would be possible with limited models. This is definitely something that needs to be considered and I may have to change that section of the front cover.

Overall after receiving feedback, I have decided several little things on my plan will have to change. I think I am going to stick with the layout of my double page spread and use colour to make it look less bare, as I think the idea of the picture being able to be used as a poster is effective however when making it I may reconsider. I am going to change the way my contents page is as it is very similar to Top of the Pops and this is something I should avoid, so I will use more images instead of the annotated front cover idea. I am also going to try and include the 'free posters' idea on the front cover as it is something my target audience said they liked however it may be difficult and in the end I may have to change what is in this corner.
