Magazine Analysis - Top of the Pops (Contents Page)

This magazine is again aiming at a younger target audience and therefore has tried to use less wordy ways of showing the main stories. They have a picture of the front cover and have annotated it with the page numbers so all the main stories are straight away clear where they are. They also have pictures of famous bands such as One Direction and have written on them which page they can be found on, which will appeal to their masses of fans who will want to read about them. They also split all the contents page into different sections such as shopping, all about you, competitions, boys and celebrities. This makes it easier for people to find the stories they are interested in without having to read the whole magazine which target audience will find useful as they may not be interested in reading all the stories. In order to break up the text they have included images such as bags and bracelets which make it look more attractive and interesting. Again the page is white with pink bits on it to make it bright and interesting. The font is also pretty and used to appeal to girls as it is swirly and this will appeal to the audience.
