My Target Audience

My target audience will be young females, aged 9 - 14. It will be girls who fit into the 'mainstream' type of person according to Young and Rubicam's theory as they will listen to generic pop music, by bands such as One Direction and Little Mix or artists like Taylor Swift and Meghan Trainor. I have created a specific target audience profile to show the typical reader of my magazine.

My target audience is an eleven year old girl called Daisy-May Smith. Because of her young age, she obviously has no children and is single. She is still in primary school and doesn't like lessons, but loves play time with her friends. Her parents are a teacher and a warehouse manager, and therefore fit into the class C1 or even B. They buy her a magazine each week, and she enjoys reading about her favourite pop stars and sticks the posters up in her bed room. She also enjoys reading books and is a member of her local library. Her favourite books are the 'Ally's World' series by Karen McCombie. In her free time she takes dance lessons and rides her bike out on her street with her friends. In the winter, she enjoys watching films with her mum. Her favourite films are romantic comedies and the Harry Potter series. She also has a younger sister named Annabelle, who she plays with dolls with, but would never admit this to her friends. Her parents are not strictly religious however her school is a Christian one and they do occasionally attend church. She has just created a Facebook account which she uploads pictures to and speaks to her friends online but this is monitored by her parents.
